May Mobility, Inc. is an driverless transportation startup located in Ann Arbor, Michigan with a focus on fleets for enterprise customers. Launched in 2017 with a team of experienced engineers, May Mobility is entering into an exciting phase of growth for the company where we are launching our first fleets for customers.  We will be the first company to provide truly value-add driverless transportation services and are looking to grow our team to ensure our business, as well as technical, execution is flawless.

Job Summary

To ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction with our driverless fleet services, May Mobility is looking for a Director of Operations to lead the efforts on the ground for each of our transportation service deployments. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and is key in helping May Mobility ensure a smooth launch and excellent ongoing service for our customers.  This role is responsible for site development and  distributed customer service team growth.  Specifically, the Director of Operations will have the following responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the executive team to create and implement processes and policies
    • Create the site launch and hiring process
    • Create and implement training processes for distributed deployment teams
  • Lead May Mobility’s operations in the United States by managing facilities, hiring operations supervisors and technicians
    • Manage all operations teams working day-to-day for customer vehicle fleets
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Customer Success, Product teams to deliver 5-Star Service
    • Create employee retention and training strategy for distributed field team
  • Act as project manager with local team to ensure smooth kickoff of new deployments including:
    • Coordinate requirements with Customer Success team
    • Find and secure office space
    • Find and secure garage spaces and vehicle charging infrastructure
    • Coordinate with local municipalities
    • Co-manage field application engineers to identify infrastructure integrations
  • Handle urgent customer concerns and escalate to customer success team if necessary

Qualifications and Skills

  • Required Qualifications 
    • 3+ years in a customer facing role for an enterprise solution
    • 5+ years in operations management
    • Experience creating training framework for distributed team
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professionalism
    • Team player with the highest level of integrity, able to see big picture but willing to do “lower level tasks” to complete the objective
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
    • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn
    • Travel expectations up to 75%
  • Desirable Qualifications
    • ​Experience with novel mobility solutions
    • Engineering or technical background
