Driverless Transportation Business Development Lead

Job Summary

May Mobility is entering into an exciting phase of growth for the company where we are significantly expanding our customer pipeline.  To ensure sustainable growth of the company to support our deliverables, May Mobility is looking for a head of sales. This role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will be key in helping May Mobility grow the customer pipeline for our transportation services.  This role will be responsible for finding and building relationships with new customers.  


Responsibilities and Duties

Specifically, the Business Development Lead will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation - Private Property Managers, Developers and Municipalities
    • Define a lead generation process that can be used as a playbook as the team scales
    • Leverage lead generation process to grow customer pipeline
  • Lead Management
    • Follow up quickly with inbound leads
    • Understand what makes a high-quality lead, and understand when to say “not now” to a potential customer.
  • Contract Negotiation
    • Draft contract for transportation services to meet customer needs
    • Carry contract through negotiation and approval process to sign-off
    • Coordinate with product, operations and customer success teams to insure internal support of contract

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience with business development or sales for a cutting-edge technology
  • Direct experience sourcing and growing a customer base
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to bounce back from rejection and focus on converting the right customers
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and customer deliverables concurrently
  • High Degree of comfort with ambiguity and balancing multiple priorities
  • Attention to detail, doesn’t let anything fall through the cracks
  • Experience using Google Suite
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience establishing a sales process for a new company
  • Engineering or technical background
  • Experience selling to municipalities or other public entities
